I’m excited to announce:

I Wish My Beautiful Dream Will Never End will be screened as part of the exhibition

9 TO 5 TOTAL ART/MUSIC MEETING | LOCHWUPPERTAL | Sonntag/Sunday 31.10.2021, 15h…

30.10. – 13.11.2021 | (re)presented by Maria Lentzen

LOCHation | LOCH | Plateniusstr. 35 | 42105 Wuppertal

Das Video ” I wish my beautiful dream will never end” von Yingmei Duan und mir wird gezeigt. Komposition: Wolfgang in der Wiesche

About the exhibition:

“9 to 5” is considered the epitome of conventional lifestyles determined by the rhythm of work. In contrast to this, concepts such as collaborative work beyond established structures have been developed in the field of art. A paradigmatic field for this is Free Jazz: as with the “liberal arts”, a claim to freedom is postulated here that relates to creative principles, but also to social aspects.
The exhibition “9 to 5 total music/art meeting” sees itself as a platform for dealing with the principles central to Free Jazz – improvisation and communication, whether in dealing with the visual or musical materials or in relation to various forms of production. The programme accompanying the exhibition includes an evening of “9 to 5”, in which performances, happenings and concerts will further explore the relationship between visual art and music and plead for a free, but not irresponsible, shaping of art and life.

The video “I wish my beautiful dream will never end” by Yingmei Duan and Maria Lentzen will be shown. Composition: Wolfgang in der Wiesche

Wolfgang in der Wiesche works internationally as a freelance painter, graphic artist, photographer, media artist and as a composer and musician. Between 1992 and 2006 he lived alternately in the People’s Republic of China, India and Germany. In 2012-13, his work was honoured by a one-year fellowship from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, New York. He is currently funded by the Fondazione Silene Giannini, Lugano, Switzerland.

JETSTREAM
Wolfgang in der Wiesche stages colour accents, rhythms and painterly movement on small-format paintings as eye-catchers in the showcases at the cathedral. They give an indication of the artist’s diverse oeuvre, which can be explored further during a visit to his studio and in a personal conversation. The abstract-looking paintings belong to a series of experimental imaginary landscapes or “mind scapes”, which thematise landscape experiences, dream journeys and also admiration and concern for the environment and the forces of nature, such as the painting “jetstream”. A “stream of consciousness”. The exhibition may change during the runtime, so it is worth visiting more often.
