RE:VIEW | to draw some attention – preparing to release my third music album | tr2 men zen | it’s time for a re:view, here‘s a photograph taken approx. between 1979-81 playing my Fender Rhodes and Korg Delta. FRAGILE ESQUIF, D 2011, 35mm, 1:1.85, color, sound, 17 min.
Dressed completely in white a man gets lost in a luminous void of space. His thoughts spin in spirals. All activity in this vast nothingness shows no result. When he finally settles in a boat for fishing a message pop up in a bottle…

IKILIIKKUJA – PERPETUUM MOBILE, D 2005, 35mm, 1:1.66, b/w, sound, 5 min.
Two men, one bottle. Black and white. Yin and yang. What is empty for one is full for the other. Peltola who is the main character in Aki Kaurismäki’s film The Man Without A Past adds a place- and timeless folk music. With very few notes, it says all there is to say.
concept, photography, optical works: Thomas Bartels music: Markku Peltola production company: KAROFILM
MICHANEVOMAI – ICH ERSINNE EINE LIST, D 2004, 35mm, 1:1.37, color, sound, 9 min. 30sec.
A poetic journey through a mechanical universe. Electric shadows of men and women circle around each other in endless loops. They finally meet in THE KISS. But it’s just a dream.

just a few comments on the album:
Yes-I got your music and love it, very very quircky, unusual stuff you have there. Bob Ostertag (USA) CD and catalog, all interesting… Chris Cutler(UK) Dear Wolfgang, finally found the chance to listen to your CD…which I enjoyed very much…. nice aesthetics. best, Jon Rose(AUS) … Your sounds are so great and I really enjoyed it !, … Kiichiro Hayashi (JAP) … In fact, the cutter sounds like a pair of old rusty scissors, a typical old fashion China made home scissors. My first response when first listen to it is: It’s speaking. Not only this one, I like some other tracks too. It is short but so well structured. It doesn’t sound like improvised to me. I wonder if you are able to play this music live because I would always like to play live on what the music is like … Chan Wai Fat (HONG KONG) … die cd ist natürlich spitze. die musik, die mir sofort entsprach-… schön, … Saadet Türköz (SWITZERLAND)

I’m happy to announce that on March, 7, 2021 my second album | insomnios | was released with the help of MusicHub, Berlin and will be step by step AVAILABLE @ amazon music / apple music/iTunes / Deezer / Napster / Spotify | more will follow…
I originally composed the music of this album for the theatre dance performance INSOMNIOS, LOT Theater, Braunschweig, 2001, and performed it live on stage. You’ll find more images of rehearsals and the perfomances in the previous and the following posts. I soon later rerecorded all tracks live in studio and with a few modifications put the album together. Even though several record labels showed interest in the music in the following years I couldn’t get it published. Now finally, almost exactly 20 years later I took the chance with a new publishing concept of MusicHub, Berlin. Many thanks to everyone at MusicHub and Zebralution Digital Media Distribution!! The album was released on March, 7, 2021.
