I’m happy to announce that on March, 7, 2021 my second album | insomnios | was released with the help of MusicHub, Berlin and will be step by step AVAILABLE @ amazon music / apple music/iTunes / Deezer / Napster / Spotify | more will follow…
I originally composed the music of this album for the theatre dance performance INSOMNIOS, LOT Theater, Braunschweig, 2001, and performed it live on stage. You’ll find more images of rehearsals and the perfomances in the previous and the following posts. I soon later rerecorded all tracks live in studio and with a few modifications put the album together. Even though several record labels showed interest in the music in the following years I couldn’t get it published. Now finally, almost exactly 20 years later I took the chance with a new publishing concept of MusicHub, Berlin. Many thanks to everyone at MusicHub and Zebralution Digital Media Distribution!! The album was released on March, 7, 2021.

UPCOMING | ALBUM RELEASE | insomnios | wolfgang in der wiesche | see next upcoming post…
This post is here for two reasons, one to come up in the following posts, another to commemorate a friend, artist and Butoh dancer Anzu Furukawa. 20 years back, in 2001, the theatre dance performance | insomnios | was staged in January at the LOT Theater, Braunschweig, Germany. The perfomance was created by an international collaboration group of artists (Germany, Japan, Mexico, China) in the beginning also with Anzu Furukawa, who later on had to leave the scene, went to hospital and soon later passed away. These photographs were taken during the performances in 2001.
from the original invitation, 2001:
INSOMNIOS | Dance – Painting – Music
The literary point of departure for INSOMNIOS is the novel “The Sleeping Beauties” by the Japanese Nobel Prize winner for literature, Yasunari Kawabata. Kawabata’s novel is a meditation: ….about love, Eros and death ….about youth and old age ….about vitality and weariness of life ….about demarcation and fusion ….about the fleeting nature of human existence.
INSOMNIOS is not a narrative translation of the novel onto the stage, but a personal approach of the artists to these central themes.
Dance: Graciela Gonzalez de la Fuente, Anton Reza Painting: Chen Yun Wang Music and composition: Wolfgang in der Wiesche Idea: Graciela G. de la Fuente and Chen Yun Wang A production in cooperation with Dieter Krockauer and the LOT-Theatre Braunschweig.
Premiere: 17 January 2001, 8 pm. Further performances: 18, 19, 26, 27, 28 January and 1, 2, 3, 4 February, each at 8 pm.
At the same time, we would like to point out in advance that the Japanese dancer Anzu Furukawa had to cancel her participation at short notice for health reasons, which she herself and we (the production team) very much regret. We were therefore forced to change our plans quickly and are pleased to have found a replacement in the Mexican dancer Anton Reza, who is certainly just as artistically stimulating.
more to come…
